2009 Live Healthy Iowa YP Challenge
Here's a note from Young Professionals of Iowa:
Young Professionals of Iowa (YPIowa) is excited to announce the 1st Annual Live Healthy Iowa YP Challenge (Formerly Lighten Up Iowa), January 14, 2009 – April 23, 2009. Compete with other YP teams from across Iowa for a travelling trophy. Click here to register today and use Group Code "LHIYP". Choose the YP organization that you represent fromt he "department" selection. For questions about the YP Challenge, send an email to info@ypiowa.com. Continue to visit the YPIowa web site (www.ypiowa.com) for updates throughout the program.
Live Healthy Iowa brings together friends, families, businesses and communities in a team-based nutrition, activity and weight loss program designed to promote a healthier lifestyle. Live Healthy Iowa is a part of a nationwide program, Live Healthy America.
Live Healthy Iowa encourages participants to set realistic goals and make informed decisions about their health. For $18, all participants will receive:

Here’s how you can get involved:
- Form a team of 2-10 people
- Designate a captain
- Captains should visit your local Hy-Vee food store for a discount registration code (available by January 1). This code can be received at checkout after a $15.00 purchase of participating partners’ products. Please see the store for more details. Look for the Live Healthy America display!
- Visit www.livehealthyiowa.org and team captains will register their team members for the Live Healthy Iowa 100 Day Challenge.

YP Day at the Capitol 2009
The next YP Day at the Capitol will be February 23, 2009. This annual event was started by YPIowa in 2007 to unite young professionals across Iowa and provide an opportunity to connect with legislators. Many of your YP organizations have participated in in the past, and YPIowa wants to offer you the opportunity to be involved in the planning process as well.
We will hold a statewide conference call every other week starting Tuesday, December 16, at 11:00 a.m. The calls will be brief, about hour to 45 minutes, and will outline the following:
*Main objective and programming
*Schedule of events
*Logistics
*Marketing of the event to YPs
If you would like to participate please join the conference call or email me at jypalmer@gmail.com for the conference call details. We welcome everyone's participation. If the call times do not work with your schedule but you would still like to be involved please let me know.
